Vintage Early Tiffany Studios, New York Favrile Art Glass

Description

This vintage item is a very early example of Tiffany Studios favrile (hand made) art glass. It is circa 1898. The gold iridescent vase insert features a gentle ruffled opening. The pontil is polished. The glass next to the pontil is signed LCT & numbered Y6690. These inserts were used in high end vases to hold water & prevent the vase glass from becoming "sick". They are quite rare, especially in mint condition.
