    Description

For auction is a card tray and it is made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The card tray or bowl stands 1 5/16" tall and has a diameter of 8 7/8". This patina is known as a gold acid etched or dore' finish. This is actually 18 kt gold plate on top of the acid etched finish. The base metal is brass.
The pattern is a very pleasing Arts and Crafts pattern consisting of acid etching on metal. Tiffany used different sizes for the etched snowflakes. This one is the smallest of the flakes. It consists of a stepped bowl done in a gold (dore') acid etched small metal flake finish. This finish is on both sides of the bowl.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as the only issues to report is some darker spots on both sides of the card tray. This can be cleaned but I will leave that up to the new owner. When these were made they were a bright gold. The card tray is signed on the underside bottom edge with the impressed "Tiffany Stvdios New York" with a V instead of the letter U signature. There is also the pattern number of "1708" impressed as well. There are the numbers "25722" lightly etched by the impressed signature mark. This is more than likely a special order number and can only be seen with a magnifier glass.
This will make a wonderful addition to those collecting desk set pieces made by L.C.T. Tiffany Studios especially in the gold (dore') pattern. The impressed mark using the letter "V" in Studios denotes this as an earlier piece. This piece was made circa 1895-1905.

I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of this year 2020.
I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments
. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the
    merchandise
    unless it is paid for.
    They are also n
ow charging all sellers a commission of 11.5% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.5%. This is an increase of 8.6% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.5% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.
If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
