This listing is for a gorgeous L C Tiffany FAVRILE gold iridescent Art Glass salt cellar, c. early 1900's.
The inside of the salt cellar has vibrant violet-purple iridescent highlights and the exterior has blue iridescent highlights on a gold Favrile body. The upper edge has a ruffled/scalloped edge with the crimped folds.
Marked on lower rim "L C T Favrile".
Salt is in excellent
Estate condition with no noted flaws.
Measures 7/8" high and 2 5/8" in diameter.
FAVRILE glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's Aurene glass made by Steuben, this glass set the highest standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th century.
