RARE 1913 BASEBALL FRANK CHANCE DAY COMISKEY PARK YANKEES BUTTON PIN PINBACK
Scarce 1" no maker, but with union bug on curl. National Baseball Hall of Fame first baseman/manager Frank Chance began his Major League career with the Chicago Orphans in 1898 and would stay with the team through their name change to the Chicago Cubs until 1912. Frank would finish up his career with a very brief stint with the New York Yankees in 1913-14. Chance was most famous for being the third part of the famous Tinkers to Evers to Chance poem, as this double play combination remained in place for Chicago throughout the first decade of the 20th century and enabled the Cubs to become one of the best National League clubs of all-time with the added help of HOF pitcher Mordecai "Three-Fingers" Brown. Chance would be enshrined in Cooperstown, NY in 1946. As made there are tiny pin-point sized air dots under the celluloid that can be seen when viewed very closely. Also, the merest trace of age marks at 6 and 9 o'clock. VF. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
